We are currently looking for the next 2 great educators to join the Phoenix Children’s Chorus Artistic Team.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHORAL CONDUCTOR OPENING  FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON!

Cadet Choir, a 5th-8th grade training choir, which will begin July 2020.  The Phoenix Children’s Chorus is a dynamic and rapidly expanding organization comprised of nearly 400 students in 1st – 12th grade in seven different ensembles. Our season typically runs from late July through May. Weekly rehearsals for Cadet Choir will be located at the Phoenix Center for the Arts. This is a part-time position involving:

  • 5 hours of weekly rehearsal time (Tuesday Night)
  • Two (2) 30-minute music literacy classes following rehearsal
  • 6 Saturdays rehearsals and staff meetings (3 Fall / 3 Spring)
  • Weekend Camp in Prescott for 3 days in early August
  • 4 PCC concerts, 1-2 single choir performances, and an out-of-city day trip annually

 

Candidates should be able to provide high quality instruction of healthy vocal technique, music literacy, and performance skills. Highly qualified candidates will hold a degree in Choral Conducting or Choral Music Education, a masters degree in music or education, have choral conducting and teaching experience, possess dynamic rehearsal skills, a good knowledge of Kodaly methodology and vocal pedagogy, and the ability to interact positively with students, parents, and the public.

Pay is commensurate with experience. Interested candidates should email a letter of intent and a resume to troymeeker@pcchorus.org no later than March 27, 2020.

Submissions will be screened and qualified applicants will be invited to interview on Monday April 6, between 4-9pm. After the interview process, the interview committee will select finalists who will be asked to conduct a portion of a Cadet Choir rehearsal on Tuesday, April 21 between 5:30-7pm.

 

K-3 GENERAL MUSIC INSTRUCTOR OPENING  FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON!

Phoenix Children’s Chorus will be interviewing for a new instructor for our Poco Voce classes in our expanding East Valley program, which will begin July 2020.  The Phoenix Children’s Chorus is a dynamic and rapidly expanding organization comprised of nearly 400 students in 1st – 12th grade in seven different ensembles. Our season runs from late August through May. Weekly classes for Poco Voce will be located at Chandler Gilbert Community College. Information about the Phoenix Children’s Chorus including our mission, history, learning goals, and curriculum can be found at phoenixchildrenschorus.org

This is a part-time position involving:

  • Two (2) 45-minute classes (Thursday Night)
  • 1 Day Camp Saturday in September
  • 2 concerts per season, December and May
